LABORATORY OF ANCIENT DRAMA AND THEATRE RESEARCH

INTERDISCIPLINARY LABORATORY MEETINGS, ON THE THEMATIC AXIS: “THEATRE ARTS AND TECHNOLOGY”

Interdisciplinary laboratory meetings have commenced and are currently ongoing, under the thematic axis: “Theatre Arts and Technology”. Participants include faculty members from the Department of Theatre Studies at NKUA, colleagues from the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications at NKUA, other researchers, postgraduate students, PhD candidates, and associates from the Greek branch of the Maggioli Group, which specializes in the development of ICT (Information and Communication Technologies), Research, Development, and Innovation projects. A first meeting took place on December 19, 2025 (Room 914, Department of Theatre Studies, NKUA), and a second meeting –focused on the use of technologies in Theatre in Education, as well as Education in Theatre– is being organized for February 13, 2026. The meetings include theoretical presentations on the use of digital technologies in theatre, education, and the community, as well as presentations of completed or ongoing research projects focused on the use of digital technologies, demonstrations of interactive artistic applications and systems, and tools for the (co-)creation of augmented reality theatrical performances.
