The Laboratory of Ancient Drama and Theatre Research (L.AN.D.THE.RE.) was founded at the Department of Theatre Studies of the Faculty of Philosophy N.K.U.A. by the Joint Ministerial Decision No. 107702/B1/2-10-2003 (Government Gazette 1493/10-10-2003 Vol. B) and its internal regulation was amended by the Rector’s Decision No. 66/18-11-2019 (Government Gazette 4467/9-12-2019). The opening of the Laboratory –on the base of the amended internal regulation– took place in January 2020. From its establishment in 2003 until 2020, the Director of the Laboratory was Professor Platon Mavromoustakos, who was also elected Director of the Laboratory in February 2020. After the professor’s shift to the Department of Theatre of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the expiration of the predicted three-year term, new elections were held, according to which Professor Aikaterini (Kati) Diamantakou was appointed Director of the Laboratory.
