The Department of Theatre Studies of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens implements an experimental project entitled “Ancient Drama for Children and Youth with a Human Rights Focus”, which includes eight two-hour workshop sessions with students from the first class of the middle school to the third class of the high school.
Taking advantage of the possibilities that the art of theatre can offer to the learning process, the aim of the project is to enhance artistic actions and approaches in all cognitive areas of the curriculum of middle and high school through theatre education. At the same time, the Project enriches the teaching practice opportunities for students interested in a professional perspective in the field of formal and non-formal education.
This year’s program will run from 9/12/2024 to 04/04/2025.
In this frame, the first Training Seminar was held on Friday 13/12/2024 at 16.30-21.00, for all stakeholders (teachers and implementation teams), with the participation of partner institutions, bodies and academic researchers.
The Action is supported by the Laboratories of the Department of Theatre Studies of the University of Athens “Theatre, Philosophy, Education’ and “Laboratory of Ancient Drama and Theatre Research”.
