The goal of the program—which has been in operation since 2018 under the scientific direction of Associate Professor Clio Fanouraki of the Department of Theatre Studies at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) and Ilia Lakidou, a member of the same Department’s Special teaching staff – is to integrate aesthetic activities and approaches into all subjects of the elementary, middle, and high school curricula through Theater Education, in order to harness the potential that the art of theatre offers for enriching the learning process. At the same time, the Program expands teaching practice opportunities for
students interested in a career in formal and non-formal education.

This year’s program will run from December 9, 2024, to April 4, 2025.

In this context, the first Training Workshop was held on Friday, December 13, 2024, from 4:30 PM to 9:00 PM, for all participants (educators and implementation teams), with the participation of partner institutions, organizations, and researchers.

The Laboratory of Ancient Drama and Theatre Research supports the initiative within the theoretical framework of dramaturgical analyses of ancient works.
