L.AN.D.THE.RE.: ABOUT

The main objectives of the Laboratory of Ancient Drama and Theatre Research (L.AN.D.THE.RE.) are the recording and analysis of the cultural events associated with ancient drama and its multiple use in modern times (drama/theatre translations, theatrical performances, original plays, operas, films, performances, art exhibitions, music compositions, etc. ); the collection and digital archiving of information, documentation and audiovisual material, especially on Greek and international performances of ancient drama; the organisation of conferences and meetings between university, educational, artistic and cultural institutions, at Greek and international level, focusing on ancient drama and its reception in different spatio-temporal contexts; the organisation and implementation of educational programmes, at different learning levels and contexts, aiming at the re-approach to ancient drama and the development of new ways of teaching it, through the study of the different ways of its reception by the Arts and, in particular, the different ways of its activation in contemporary theatrical settings; the support of theatre researchers and practitioners on issues related to ancient drama and its reception.
