PUBLICATION OF ARISTOPHANES’ ASSEMBLY WOMEN, TRANSLATED ΒY SPYROS A. EVANGELATOS

As part of the research project “PLUTUS 21. Unpublished translations of ancient drama: Identification – Recording – Collection –Evaluation”,  Kapa Publications (2025) released in a joint edition two translations of Aristophanes’ Assembly Women (or Ecclesiazusae), which were bequeathed to us, approximately thirty years apart (1969–1998), by Spyros A. Evangelatos, director, playwright, translator, theatre scholar, regular member, vice president and president of the Academy, founder and director of the Amphi-Theatre, director of other artistic organizations, founder, professor and president of the Department of Theatre Studies at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
Editing, and introduction to the joint publication of the two translations: Kaiti Diamantakou, Professor at the Department of Theatre Studies, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
